Jeep Wrangler earns ninth consecutive SEMA 4X4 SUV Of The Year Award

The Jeep Wrangler has done it again. This iconic Jeep vehicle has won ‘4×4 of the Year’ for the ninth consecutive year at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show. The Jeep Wrangler is the only vehicle ever to win the ‘4×4/SUV of the Year’ award since the Specialty Equipment Market Association awards was launched in 2010.
The 2018 winners were announced on Monday, October 29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the special SEMA Vehicle Reveal event. The Head of Passenger Car Brands for FCA-North America Steve Beahm was on hand to celebrate the proud moment when the Jeep Wrangler won once again.

Most Accessory-Friendly Vehicle

The SEMA Show exhibitors voted to give the Jeep Wrangler the customization crown as they acknowledged that no other vehicle in its class was as accessory-friendly as the Wrangler. Beahm pointed out that the award recognizes that in the customization world, Jeep Wrangler continues to be the leader. Late last year Mopar introduced over 200 performance parts and accessories for Jeep automobiles. Mopar’s head of Parts & Service noted that the Jeep Wrangler is the portfolio’s star as far as personalization is concerned and the vehicle keeps getting hotter every year. It’s a fact that has made the Jeep Wrangler popular with automobile enthusiasts for years.

Shining A Light

The definitive Original Equipment Manufacturer award at the SEMA Show, the SEMA Awards honors the vehicles that look the hottest while launching and showcasing aftermarket parts. It’s their way of shining a light and letting consumers see what is possible with creative and innovative use of aftermarket parts. Chris Kersting, SEMA’s President and CEO, said the Jeep Wrangler is once again chosen as the aftermarket community’s favorite. He explained that whether accessorizing for every day driving or off-roading, Jeep owners have outstanding aftermarket options available to them.

Four Jeeps On Display

The Mopar brand has a display area at the SEMA Show that’s 15,345-square-feet. The space will feature four Jeep vehicles transformed using Mopar performance parts and accessories made specifically for Jeep automobiles. The display also features a Mopar-modified trail-themed Ram 1500 Rebel as well as a Ram 1500 Big Horn ‘Low Down’ street-styled pickup. Customized versions of other SEMA Award finalists and winners will be on display at the 2018 SEMA Show, which runs from October 30 until November 2.
