Fiat Chrysler unveils 2017 Jeep Compass SUV

Fiat Chrysler has unveiled the 2017 Jeep Compass, the vehicle that replaces both the original Jeep Compass and the Patriot. FCA officially released images of the small SUV recently at its assembly plant in Goiana, Brazil. The 2017 Jeep Compass is a vehicle that will be available in markets all over the world. While many global Jeep customers are already familiar with the Jeep Compass name, other markets that had been used to the Jeep Patriot will be hearing the Jeep Compass name for the first time. Fortunately the Jeep brand has always been known for producing durable, dependable, fun to drive, good-looking automobiles, so customers new to the Compass name know what to expect.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has built the new Compass on a larger version of the Small-Wide platform that has been used with great success on the smaller Jeep Renegade. The immediate challenge for the 2017 Jeep Compass is for a single vehicle to replace the original Jeep Compass as well as the Jeep Patriot in the minds and hearts of Jeep customers. What makes replacing the Patriot and the original Compass interesting is that although both vehicles were subjected to endless derision, they did sell amazingly well, particularly over the past two years. But FCA seems confident the snazzy looking 2017 Jeep Compass will do just fine. If you want to see the Jeep Compass in action, you should really consider taking one for a spin at Chapman Chrysler Jeep.

Many buyers loved the Patriot and the original Compass because they combined an affordable low price with the ruggedness, quality engineering and daring visual design elements people have come to depend on Jeep brand vehicles to provide. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles wants customers to know the 2017 Jeep Compass is both affordable and quintessentially Jeep in its design, visual appearance and performance. And as the recently released pictures show, it is a rugged-looking yet very attractive automobile. One that’s versatile enough for off-roading yet stylish enough for classy date nights and everyday use.

While Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has revealed that the 2017 Jeep Compass for the international market has already begun production in Brazil and the 2017 Compass for the North American market will be produced in Mexico, the company has not revealed a lot of information about the powertrains of the vehicles. The company did say the 2017 Jeep Compass comes with 17 fuel-efficient powertrain options designed to meet the needs of consumers in over 100 countries worldwide. Aside from the photos, Jeep lovers and the automotive media will have to wait until November at the Los Angeles Auto Show for the 2017 Compass’ domestic debut.

People in the know postulate that the 2017 Jeep Compass will use Jeep’s stalwart 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and it will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission for the American market. However, Jeep has several other four-cylinder engines they could use for the Compass. One of them is Jeep’s turbocharged 2.0-liter “Hurricane” four that’s slated for the 2018 Wrangler. The company has said the Compass has “best-in-class 4×4 off-road capability”. So it will have “Trail Rated” badges when it debuts in early 2017.
