The front of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler is getting a minor makeover. No need to worry, the iconic vehicle will have most of the elements drivers have come to know and love. The only thing that’s going to change is the headlights. The 2017 model now comes with optional LED headlights. The better for making those late-night off-road runs. The new LED headlights will be a factory feature for the 2017 Jeep Wrangler being made for the American market. It’s the first time Fiat Chrysler has changed the headlights on this much beloved vehicle.

The new headlights are just a hint of some of the changes Jeep enthusiasts can expect to see when the 2018 model hits the showroom and the streets. In 2018 ,Jeep will replace the current Wrangler with a brand new model. So the 2017 model is the last opportunity for buyers to get the Wrangler they have come to know. Fiat Chrysler hasn’t said what changes people can expect for 2018, but rest assured it’s going to be great. For now if you want the classic Wrangler look you’ve gotten used to, the 2017 model will be your last opportunity to get it, and you can get your hands on one at Chapman Chrysler Jeep.

People who purchase the 2017 Wrangler or the four door Wrangler Unlimited will get the new headlights as part of the Sahara and Rubicon trims standard equipment. The Sport and Sport S will see the new LED headlight offered as an option. They will make it all the better to see your way no matter where your travel adventures take you. According to the venerable forum Jeep Garage lower trims that want the new LED headlights will have to pay $595 for it as a dealer-added upgrade. That won’t hurt too much when the lowest base price of the two-door 2017 Sport is $23,995 and it costs $37,445 for the four-door Rubicon’s most expensive model.

Jeep’s press release says the new lights are significantly brighter. The output of the low beam will be increased by 63 percent, while the high-beam output will increase by 90 percent. Sounds like it will make nighttime driving almost as bright as daylight. The fog lights on the 2017 Wrangler will be LED as well. Jeep has not said how much brighter LED technology will make the fog lights, but it’s sure to be improved significantly as well. What’s also significant is it takes 67 percent less power to run the new headlights.

The improvement in illumination of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler is sure to please more than a few Jeep fans. On the forums the current Jeep Wrangler headlights have been described as ‘decent’ to as low as ‘piss poor’. So the new, brighter LED headlights will be a welcome change for many people. Plus, Fiat Chrysler isn’t simply adding new LED light bulbs, the company is creating a housing specially designed to maximize the projection of the LEDs. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler’s specific are still a mystery. But with the new LED headlights the future of the Jeep Wrangler looks much brighter. Either way, no matter what Jeep Wrangler addition you get, you are sure to be happy.
