jeep-off-roading

The front of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler is getting a minor makeover. No need to worry, the iconic vehicle will have most of the elements drivers have come to know and love. The only thing that’s going to change is the headlights. The 2017 model now comes with optional LED headlights. The better for making those late-night off-road runs. The new LED headlights will be a factory feature for the 2017 Jeep Wrangler being made for the American market. It’s the first time Fiat Chrysler has changed the headlights on this much beloved vehicle.

The new headlights are just a hint of some of the changes Jeep enthusiasts can expect to see when the 2018 model hits the showroom and the streets. In 2018 ,Jeep will replace the current Wrangler with a brand new model. So the 2017 model is the last opportunity for buyers to get the Wrangler they have come to know. Fiat Chrysler hasn’t said what changes people can expect for 2018, but rest assured it’s going to be great. For now if you want the classic Wrangler look you’ve gotten used to, the 2017 model will be your last opportunity to get it, and you can get your hands on one at Chapman Chrysler Jeep.

People who purchase the 2017 Wrangler or the four door Wrangler Unlimited will get the new headlights as part of the Sahara and Rubicon trims standard equipment. The Sport and Sport S will see the new LED headlight offered as an option. They will make it all the better to see your way no matter where your travel adventures take you. According to the venerable forum Jeep Garage lower trims that want the new LED headlights will have to pay $595 for it as a dealer-added upgrade. That won’t hurt too much when the lowest base price of the two-door 2017 Sport is $23,995 and it costs $37,445 for the four-door Rubicon’s most expensive model.

Jeep’s press release says the new lights are significantly brighter. The output of the low beam will be increased by 63 percent, while the high-beam output will increase by 90 percent. Sounds like it will make nighttime driving almost as bright as daylight. The fog lights on the 2017 Wrangler will be LED as well. Jeep has not said how much brighter LED technology will make the fog lights, but it’s sure to be improved significantly as well. What’s also significant is it takes 67 percent less power to run the new headlights.

The improvement in illumination of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler is sure to please more than a few Jeep fans. On the forums the current Jeep Wrangler headlights have been described as ‘decent’ to as low as ‘piss poor’. So the new, brighter LED headlights will be a welcome change for many people. Plus, Fiat Chrysler isn’t simply adding new LED light bulbs, the company is creating a housing specially designed to maximize the projection of the LEDs. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler’s specific are still a mystery. But with the new LED headlights the future of the Jeep Wrangler looks much brighter. Either way, no matter what Jeep Wrangler addition you get, you are sure to be happy.

Jeep Towing

So you’ve finally gotten the Jeep you’ve always wanted, and now you are ready to plan your outdoor adventures. But first you want the right trailer hitch so you can tow anything you need to make your adventures more spectacular. There are a number of hitch types from which to choose. They vary not only in design, but also in tongue weight and overall towing capacity. Hitches are rated from Class I to Class V. A class I hitch has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds and between 200 and 250 pounds in tongue weight. A Class V hitch can tow up to 25,000 pounds.

There are round, square, receiver, weight distribution, 5th Wheel and Gooseneck hitches. The way you plan to use you Jeep will determine which type is right for you. It’s very important to consider the vehicle’s towing capacity, gross trailer weight and trailer tongue weight before you decide. Make sure the trailer hitch you choose is compatible with your vehicle. Unless you have experience and the skills and tools necessary, it is usually best to have your trailer hitch installed by an expert. This can eliminate potential problems and make the towing experience safer and easier. To see how easy it is to love a Jeep, test drive one out at Chapman Chrysler Jeep.

When choosing a trailer hitch, it’s usually a good idea to choose one which offers excess capacity without exceeding your Jeep’s towing capacity. If you buy more jet skis or motorcycles, get a larger boat or for some other reason your towing needs increase, you won’t have to spend more money to replace the trailer hitch you already have with a heavier one. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with towing a lighter trailer using a heavier hitch.

Make sure to do your due diligence when you are deciding on which trailer hitch to buy. As part of your research, be sure to talk to a trailer hitch dealer and ask them about the designs they have available. The trailer hitch dealer can also tell you which type of hitch is compatible with your Jeep and tell you which one is right for your vehicle. There are some hitches that are designed to be unobtrusive and hidden under the bumper of the SUV. Others are made so they can be more prominently placed and cannot be hidden because of your vehicle’s undercladding. Hitches can also vary in style, finish, quality and color. Choose the one that best suits your aesthetic and functional needs. To find the best one for your needs, check out the Jeep parts and accessories at your local Jeep dealer.

There are many different types of hitches made by a variety of manufacturers that have several different features. Curt hitches are among the most popular. Many Jeep owners like them because of the well-fitting, vehicle-specific designs they offer, as well as their powder coat rust-resistant finishes. If you want the low-profile look, you may like a Hidden Hitch receiver hitch. It features removable drawbars which can help to make the hitch almost invisible when it’s not being used.

Whichever trailer hitch you choose for your Jeep be sure to use it safely.
